Meet the Doctors

Dr. Imran Ahson, MD, DMD, lives and works in the greater Massachusetts/New Hampshire area. Originally born and raised in Florida, Dr. Ahson completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Florida. During his time there, he worked extensively with the Center for Implant Dentistry, and created technology that assisted in implant design. He went on to complete dental school, medical school, and surgical residency at the University of Florida, as well as a fellowship in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery at the Florida Craniofacial Institute. His training included extensive experience in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as craniofacial surgery; and has written and lectured nationally on various topics in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

 In addition to working at NHOMS, Dr. Ahson is a Clinical Professor at Tufts University, and is passionate about using his skills to help underserved populations. He travels yearly to provide healthcare and cleft lip/palate surgeries in developing countries including Bangladesh, Guatemala, Pakistan, Thailand, and Ecuador.

Dr. Eric Ress, DMD, MD, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, face, and surrounding structures. His clinical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, and orthognathic surgery. 

Originally from Hebron, Connecticut, Dr. Ress earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University before receiving his dental degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, where he served as chief resident during his final year. His comprehensive training included dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant placement, facial trauma, head and neck pathology, reconstructive surgery, anesthesia, and other complex surgical procedures. 

Dr. Ress was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society, in recognition of his academic and clinical achievements. He is board eligible in oral and maxillofacial surgery and plans to pursue board certification. 

Dr. Ress was drawn to oral and maxillofacial surgery because of the specialty’s broad scope and the opportunity to combine thoughtful diagnosis with surgical treatment. His approach to patient care is centered on creating a comfortable and positive experience, whether a patient is seeking relief from pain or undergoing a routine procedure. He believes in clear communication, individualized treatment planning, and working closely with referring providers to achieve the best possible outcomes for each patient. 

Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Ress enjoys exploring Boston with his wife and two young daughters. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, swimming, skiing, collecting vinyl records, and spending time with his family.
