Meet the Doctors

Dr. Ahson

Dr. Imran Ahson, MD, DMD, lives and works in the greater Massachusetts/New Hampshire area. Originally born and raised in Florida, Dr. Ahson completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Florida. During his time there, he worked extensively with the Center for Implant Dentistry, and created technology that assisted in implant design. He went on to complete dental school, medical school, and surgical residency at the University of Florida, as well as a fellowship in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery at the Florida Craniofacial Institute. His training included extensive experience in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as craniofacial surgery; and has written and lectured nationally on various topics in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

In addition to working at NHOMS, Dr. Ahson is a Clinical Professor at Tufts University, and is passionate about using his skills to help underserved populations. He travels yearly to provide healthcare and cleft lip/palate surgeries in developing countries including Bangladesh, Guatemala, Pakistan, Thailand, and Ecuador.

Dr. Kim

Dr. Jaegak Kim completed his undergraduate study with honors in Biophysics. He then pursued a Master of Science in Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of British Columbia, Canada. His academic interest for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery arose unintentionally after he was treated as a patient for jaw infection. Dr. Kim then moved to Boston to obtain a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and with the prestigious induction to Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU).

Dr. Kim then further progressed his training by undertaking an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Boston University Medical Center. His surgical training was robust and has prepared him for a wide variety of surgical cases practicing the full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He holds a keen interest in dentoalveolar surgery including extractions, dental implants and bone grafts, orthognathic jaw surgery and IV sedations. He is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).

In his free time, he likes to spend time with his wife Mina and their son Yul. He passionately enjoys playing and watching soccer. He is also fond of trying and experiencing different food cultures and restaurants in the Boston metro area. He is fluent in both Korean and English.

Dr. Samman

Dr. Mouhab Samman, DDS, MD, is a dual-degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with nearly ten years of experience practicing general dentistry prior to completing residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This extensive clinical background provides him with a comprehensive understanding of restorative and interdisciplinary treatment planning, allowing for thoughtful, practical surgical care.

Dr. Samman completed a dual-degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency, receiving advanced training in dental implant surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, third-molar extractions, and the management of oral pathology. His combined experience as a general dentist and oral surgeon enables seamless collaboration with referring providers and optimized outcomes for patients.

He is known for his clear communication, meticulous approach, and strong commitment to patient safety and evidence-based care. Dr. Samman remains actively engaged in continuing education to stay current with advancements in surgical techniques and implant technology.

Dr. Frykenberg

Born and raised in Andover, MA, Dr. Frykenberg is thrilled to join the team serving his hometown of Andover and surrounding communities. With a passion for high-quality patient care and excellence in oral surgery, Dr. Frykenberg is thrilled to give back to the community that shaped him.

He completed his undergraduate studies at Northeastern University before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in Baltimore. Dr. Frykenberg then pursued advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery through a residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Frykenberg enjoys the full scope of oral surgery, with a particular focus on wisdom teeth extractions and dental implants, helping patients to find restored oral health and confidence. He views his role as an extension of the referring dental practices he partners with, working closely with colleagues to ensure patients receive seamless, comprehensive care.

Returning to his hometown, he feels honored to serve the families and neighbors of the Andover area and is committed to building lasting relationships rooted in trust, compassion, and exceptional surgical care.
